Sri Puteri

To know where this place, think the Panmure library. This Malaysian restaurant is located near the junction of Queens and Pilkington Road. It’s a somewhat authentic Malaysian food with a focus on the Malay cuisine – the curries, rotis etc. I tried two of the common Malaysian dishes, roti canai and beef rendang. These are the safest choices for Malay food – well, for me anyway.

The environment is very “Malaysian” that is, it’s noisy, cramp and lively. They’ve even managed to exceed the capacity of the restaurant by putting some tables and chairs outside.

Roti Canai

Roti canai.

Beef rendang (with rice of course).

Sir Puteri is relatively cheap, and the variety of Malay food provide customers other options, other than the usual Malaysian i.e. laksa, chicken rice, mee goreng. I’ll give this place a 7/10 simply because their presentation is not that fantastic. Their price are at the usual, $10-ish mark. This place is a good recommendation for lunch – be prepared to bring your earplugs and love for multiculturalism. Sri Puteri has plenty of it.
